The Maker’s Diet Small Group Experience

When: August 3rd

Where: Cafe Diem

Cost: $50

Details: Eight week journey. Meet weekly for approximately 90 minutes.  Broken down into 3 phases, with a guide on foods to enjoy & foods to avoid.

We will be following the outline of the book, The Maker’s Diet by Jordan Rubin.

We will address body, mind, emotions and spirit. Health encompasses all aspects of our human experience. We should therefore approach it with a holistic mindset. God created us each with a unique blend of these areas. When we include each of these aspects into our daily health, then we can experience the complete life God has meant for us.

Key Markers for the Journey: Insulin, Infection & Inflammation.

Insulin: Insulin related disease such as diabetes and hypoglycemia are on the increase and are a cause of the standard American Diet. Balancing insulin improves mental, physical and emotional health by maintaining proper blood sugar levels, sharpening concentration and improving mood.

Infection: Infectious diseases are a major cause of sickness, disability ,and death in the US today. Degenerative diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer remain the primary killers. Eliminating toxic substances in our diet and environment and with proper exercise, we will reduce infection by lessening the toxic burden placed on your immune system.

Inflammation: Inflammation is a natural response to injury and important part of how our body’s work to repair damage, but when it is elevated, it can result in worse damage. We will manage inflammation with proper diet and exercise. This will help reduce aches and pains while reducing risk factors for heart disease and cancer.
