Fitness

What do I know about fitness and weight loss? While I am not a huge exercise fanatic (you know-like the ripped women with no body fat you see on pinterest?) I have enjoyed working out since I was about 16. It was always a challenge to keep up with Denise Austin. I thought, man if she has 3 kids and looks like that AND she's bustin' my butt, what excuse have I got to poop out? haha. She's been a good role model eating healthy and she looks healthy and muscular.

In 2008, I competed in my first figure competition here in Iowa. It took lots of dedication and hard work. But it was a fun experience. I will admit, I didn't diet as hard as most people (which is probably why the judges said....just a little more fat loss and you'd have made it to the top.) I laugh now. I trained hard. Harder than ever and said I would never do a figure competition again. Now I may train for a bikini competition. I'd still look like  a woman AND have curves!

I also love reading up on fitness and the latest fitness advice from pros. Women who live this lifestyle. I love the magazine Oxygen Mag. Tons of helpful information from pros.  Lots of well known women Jennifer Nicole Lee have competed in National competitions. Since they compete, they enjoy health and fitness and so I would take advice from them.

I've studied to become a personal trainer but decided against it because I believe it's not fitness that people struggle with, it's how to eat that we struggle with.

So I don't look like this now. Since then, I've gotten married and had baby #1. She is now 20 months old.

That last 10 lbs was challenging to lose. I'm not one of those "lucky" people who fit into their size 0 jeans the day I gave came home from the hospital. I'm your girl next door who had to squeeze into her "fat day jeans" at 6 weeks post-partum :)

The past 2 months, I have dedicated to getting back down to pre-baby weight (ok weight isnt the same.) I suppose looks is what I am focusing on. It hasn't been easy, but it hasn't been impossible. Nor is it impossible for you either. Eventually the belly pouch will go down. But not by itself. It will take hard work.

Here is a pic of me at my Figure Competition in 2008(left) &  post baby 21 months (right)  :)
picture coming soon! Turns out its not so easy
